Step 3: Send transcripts

Students can receive transfer credits for a variety of reasons. LSUA will make every effort to award students transfer credit from regionally accredited schools, approved testing agencies, military experience, or other approved methods in a manner that is consistent with transfer procedures.
    • Official transcripts or test scores must be sent directly from the institution or agency awarding the credit or score. This includes any attempts of college credit such as high school dual enrollment, CLEP or AP test score, or JST (Joint Service Transcripts).

Step 4: Apply for financial aid

  1. All students who are admitted to LSUA are considered for scholarships.  The priority deadline for application to be considered for scholarships for Fall semester is December 1 of the previous year.
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is a federal application that will qualify you for any grants, loans, or other financial benefits. You can apply at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please include LSUA’s school code: 002011. If you need assistance completing the FAFSA, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 318-473-6423 for an appointment.

    • LSUA should receive your information within 3 weeks of an electronic submission of the FAFSA. Once we receive your information, you will receive a letter from our Enrollment Management office. You may need to provide our office with additional information. If you do, please return the requested information as soon as possible so that we can process your financial aid request.

For more information, please visit the Financial Aid Website or call (318) 473-6423

Step 5: Schedule a meeting with an advisor

Our professional advisors help new students choose appropriate programs of study, understand their degree requirements, develop manageable course schedules, and, in general, assist them in making a successful transition to university life.
  • All first-time freshmen, transfer, and reentry students meet with a professional advisor once they are admitted or readmitted to the university.
  • Appointments can be conducted via telephone or video conference.

To schedule an appointment, call Ms. Davia Speed-Berry at (318) 767-2604.

Step 6: Register for classes and order textbooks

Your professional advisor will assist you in creating your first schedule. While completing registration, you will have the opportunity to order textbooks, which can be mailed to your address. ISBN numbers are provided for required course materials via Self-Service, or you can order any time through the Bookstore page, just scroll to the bottom and click the Textbooks and Course Materials link.

Step 7: Log into Moodle

Once you have a username and password, you can log into our learning management system, Moodle. Tutorials on using the platform as well as the ortentation class will be available. There are a variety of links to help get you started on the right foot, so click around, explore, and ask questions if needed through email (online@lsua.edu) or virtual meeting (Skype - Contact Teresa at username "mstlsua").

To log into Moodle, you will need your current LSUA username and password.

**Please note - courses will not appear on your login page until the instructor makes the class visible. Prior to the semester starting, you will see a master list of courses. Once your first class has become visible, this will disappear and be replaced with only your visible, current coursework. If you feel that you have a class that is missing from your page, contact your instructor to verify he or she is using Moodle for their course.
